Dear Oakridge Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying the first weeks of summer. Thank you for your continued support and love during these unprecedented times.

As we move into the summer months, our administration and staff are already planning for the coming school year. At Oakridge, we believe coming to school every day and participating in positive school classrooms with teachers and peers is what our children need most. Their social-emotional development, along with their needs to learn and play are our main focus. It is our full intention to open with regular school hours and days while adhering to the future updates from the California Department of Public Health, Orange County Department of Education, and CDC.

In the most recent weeks, data has been shared among schools and districts reflecting what most parents would like to see in place for the 20-21 school year. We will be working diligently throughout the summer to create learning environments that are safe and structured for our students.

Our class sizes for the fall will be averaging 16:1 and modifications to the spacing in rooms has already begun. We will be implementing strict cleaning procedures, student passing guidelines for transitions, student health policies to allow students to stay home while feeling any cold or flu-like symptoms, daily morning health checks, morning drop-off and pick up protocols, limiting non-student/staff on campus, and reviewing common areas for proper social distancing.

Further, in past years, and just this past Spring, we have proven that we can provide successful online programs and home-school options. Some families may prefer to continue with a home-school option and that is also being discussed. Zoom classes will not be offered while we are in full on-campus classes, but our weekly academic program can be modified to a home-school option. In the event that the state moves to a virtual learning environment, we will be ready for that as well.

Thank you again for your continued support and please feel free to contact us with any questions.

All my best,

Mr. Joly
