hi it's Mark with okage brand news and I'm going to be interviewing the volleyball team the triway team started off the season with a big win their coach Miss horto will be answering some questions so what is your favorite part of coaching the volleyball team my favorite part of coaching the volleyball team here at Oakridge is watching everyone improve with every game we have a lot of fun everyone gets to experience new things and seeing them improve with their friends is definitely my favorite part who do you think on this team has the most potential of going pro that's a tough question I think that a lot of our team here has a great chance of continuing on their um Athletics in volleyball specific Ally so I don't even know if I could pick just 1 I think the person who has the most heart and puts in the most work will definitely make it far this is Mark and Moura with okay rare news now I'm here with Leila so Leila why did you decide to join the volleyball team I started to join the volleyball team because I thought it'd be a fun experience and I really like playing volleyball now who's your favorite teammate uh my favorite teammate is probably Lola Espinosa that is Mark and Leila with Oakridge Bear news now I'm here with Angel the best server on the trop volleyball team so how do you get your service to be so accurate first I think you have to need a good toss and remember this table left right left and practice a lot second do you play in club and if you do where do you play yes I play for to Street and turbo that's Marc and angel with Oakridge Bear news hi I'm Jacob from Oakridge beer news and students are always going to The Snack Shack to get the favorite snacks during lunch and snack let's check out what the snacks are hi I'm Jacob from okage Bear news and I'm going to be interviewing Hannah from The Snack Shack so Hannah do you plan on making a Google for where you send to middle school and asked what snacks they want most of everybody in the class so that I can send out a form and get it quickly all right what's your strategy on handling so many people on ice cream Fridays so typically uh we will have 2 to 3 people in the snack check we can just have more than 1 line and keep it moving pretty quickly because the long Waits can get really bad sometimes all right what if you look forward to in The Snack Shack I was thinking more of different kinds of chips definitely because we have a lot of spicy chips right now and I think there are some people who don't like spicy things as much definitely some new candies as well and um probably just whatever else is most popular on the forms all are you going to put new ice cream flavor flavors in The Snack Shack yes that is something that so we have a section on the Forum for you to say what kind of ice creams you want and that's what we'll be getting all right and lastly could we have a tour of the whole Snack Shack sure don't fly flew at my face so here we have have cereal there's a law left over from the breakfast and these I don't know if a lot of people know that they're there but we have a lot this is nostalgic cone this is from the traffic cones last year go traffic cones and um she lives in here this is the cash box we don't actually keep the cash in here when we're not working um this is kind of where we keep just like our general supplies we have tape gloves cleaning supplies Salt scissors and here's the little food that we have right now we will definitely be updating this soon um Takis and then just 2 boxes of like Cheeto Frito a chips we also have Starburst and Skittles and nerds a lot a lot of nerds and black licorice come buy some black licorice all right what do you do with the cash in action um well usually the funds just go back to the next restocks and sometimes refurbishing any place that might be broken Etc we also have the fridge his name is Fred we also have Freddy AKA The Honey Nut Cheerio rapper he lives there we have some Cheezits here as well um there's a lot of them so if you also want to buy some cheeses go ahead and lastly we're excited to announce that The Snack Shack will be soon having monthly specials to fund raise for new snacks and some Renovations for The Snack Shack the interviewing Tanner so Tanner what's your favorite snack at The Snack Shack um I like the Nerds gummy clusters a lot they're really good all right what do you want new in The Snack Shack um probably like you know those like big 12-packs of Starburst those would be really good oh that's great hi I'm Jacob from Oakridge Bear here's angel with okay the 2025 2026 student council election had come to an end these are the winners hi here is Andrew with Oak brand and I'm Mark the student council Spirit leader how did you feel after giving your speech in front of everyone I felt pretty confident and I was ready to get some votes how did you feel when the election result was shown I felt excited and happy that I got voted what did you think makes a good spread leader I think to make a good spirit leader you need to be exciting fun and have energy thank you here's Andrew whistle could be your news hi here and I'm the student council vice president what were you nervous about well seeing your speech doesn't like mess up or like better or something while I'm saying it what will be the most challenging thing for you vice president in your opinion um probably just coming up with like the games and um working with the the Das the vice president and then the spirit leaders and all and Council like getting their people better than me but I was pretty confident thank you if you could change anything about your speech what would it be maybe I look up a little more and then be more confident in my speech and not Etc as much okay thank you how do you feel about being the student council president I feel good about it I mean helping everybody out occurring picking up trash in the halls and just making a better English teacher Miss Rudy custodians Nicole kinder Albert I don't need second grade William second grade and a angel and I'm Isla hi I'm missing Tindle with or news ever wonder what it's like to learn about new teacher every year a school gets new teachers in Oakridge is no exception this year ogres got 2 new teachers 1 for kindergarten and 1 for Spanish first we'll interview Miss Nukem the kindergarten teacher and then miss Juan the Spanish teacher you'll be delighted to hear what they said about their years of teaching this is Mrs ncam the new kindergarten teacher here at Oakridge my first question for you is how would you describe your academic background leading up until here at Oakridge I've been teaching for 31 years I've been in early childhood education and Elementary education like I said 30 years and been doing it all my life thank you for the answer my next question is why did you want to teach kindergarten Here at Oakridge I wanted to teach kindergarten because I love kids and I love shaping the minds so they're ready for the next chapter in life thank you for your answer my last question is what are your long-term goals as a kindergarten teacher and how do you plan to achieve them my long-term goals is just to be the best kindergarten teacher I can be here at Oakridge and I hope to achieve them by just taking it 1 day at a time and asking questions along the way this is Mrs Swan who is the new Spanish this teacher here at Oakridge my first question for you is to describe your academic background leading up until here teaching at Oakridge so when I graduated from high school I went to calpoly humbold I graduated in 2022 with my BA in teaching credentials I then taught middle school for 2 years I taught 6 through 8th grade Spanish classes um and then last year I was in the first and second grade combo I was in Humble County and decided to come back to LA County which is why I was looking for a job and I found this great opportunity to work at this awesome School my next question is why do you want to teach Spanish here at Oakridge I wanted to teach Spanish here at Oakridge because I thought I thought that it was something that I could do successfully just because I have prior experience in doing it and also because the school in general seemed a great Community to be a part of and I wanted something different which is why I thought Oakridge would be the great a best fit for me my last question is what are your long-term goals as a Spanish teacher and how do you plan to achieve them my long-term goal is just to make students excited about learning a new language and being able to have them learn a new language and use it and the outside real world um whether it is to communicate to somebody who may need help for them to advocate for themselves or for them to be at a new place and able to speak Spanish and communicate to people well thank you for your answer this is Mason Tindle with orage burners
