Come Join the Orange May Parade!

On Saturday, May 2nd, Oakridge will have our annual parade float in the City of Orange May Parade. This will be our 5th entry into the parade, and over the years, we have won several float recognition awards.

This year, the Parade theme is "Orange You Glad it's America's Birthday!" Celebrating 250 Years! Our float will feature school colors, a patriotic theme, student representatives, and of course Benny!

We would love to invite any and all students (and their parents) to accompany our float. Some students will be sitting on the float (student council) and others will be walking along the float along with our cheerleaders. Parents can also watch their student from the sideline and pick up their student at the disbanding site.

Details:

Date: Saturday, May 2nd (9:15 - 11:15 am)

Time: 9:15-9:30 am check-in and meeting at float (staging for floats is on Chapman between N. Pine St. and N. Cleveland St.

10:00 am - Parade Starts (we probably won’t be moving until about 10:30-10:45).

Once moving - the route takes about 10 minutes start to finish.

We do need about 5-6 parent volunteers to hold and walk with the school banner at the front of our float.

Once we finish the route, disbanding and student release will be on W. Almond Ave. between S. Orange St. and S. Center St. This will probably happen around 11:15 am. Parents that do not walk with the float can pick up their students at that site.

We would love for any families who would like to be included in this wonderful event to come and participate. Thank you for your continued support! We are looking forward to sharing our Oakridge spirit!

Go Bears!
